From the Office of Administration

There is alot of money available for women that choose to go back to school. So, before you start thinking that all the money available for grants and scholarships is only awarded to kids or younger students, realize that there is a huge chunk of scholarship money devoted entirely to women, you just have to know how and where to find them and that is what we'll be talking about today. Just because you chose to get married and have kids does not mean you have to give up on your dreams. Now that they're all grown up and on their way, it's time for you to find your way again!

If you are 35 years old or older and are planning on going back to school, there is a Free Grant available for you from the Jeanette Rankin Foundation. It's very easy to get and simple to apply for. If you are a women with low income and can prove that a degree will improve your life, improve your families financial situation and somehow contribute positively to your community, you may be granted $2,000 that does not have to be paid back.

There are many different situations that women may be faced with when trying to re-enter the workforce. For example, if you were away on a pregnancy leave and need to get back on track but find yourself competing with new college graduates and have a lack of skills required, there is a specific scholarship offered by the Possible Women Foundation International from $2,000 - $4,000.

If you are interested in accounting, the Educational Foundation for Women n Accounting has a program for you. They offer grants from $1,000 - $5,000 for a post-graduate degree in accounting.

If you have already attended college and have an undergraduate degree in a field such as computer sciences, architecture, information, engineering, statistics, math etc., you may qualify for a substantial amount of money from the Selected Professions Fellowships. The American Association of University Women offers between $5,000 and $20,000 to women that are returning to college in these specific fields.

Don't feel left out if you are more the artistic type :) The College Art Association offers $5,000 to women in communities that are in need of a boost in the Arts dept. The National Sculpture Society also has a grant for women of $1,000 that want to study sculpture.

As you can see, there is no shortage of opportunity and financial aid for women. All you have to do is know where to look and fill out an application. Your new career awaits you!

This grant money can often be used for an online degree, or even a specialty degree of your choice.
